Amanda Kish Ontario Obituary: Cherished Resident Passes Away in a Car Accident

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Amanda Grace Kish,  Amanda’s vibrant spirit, unwavering dedication, and infectious enthusiasm touched the lives of all who knew her.

Early Life and Education

Amanda was born on May 3, 2004, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Frances Kish. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte in June 2022, where she was a cherished member of the cheerleading team from the age of 4 to 18. Her dedication and leadership led her team to achieve the highest scores in the school’s history.

In the fall of 2022, Amanda began her freshman year at Central Michigan University, pursuing her studies with the same enthusiasm and commitment that characterized her high school years. Her family recalls her as a “light in everyone’s life,” a sentiment echoed by her older sister, Samantha, who highlighted Amanda’s ability to brighten any room she entered.

Tragic Accident

On October 21, 2022, Amanda was traveling from Central Michigan University back to her home in Wyandotte. At approximately 11:30 AM, her vehicle was rear-ended, causing her to lose control and cross the median into oncoming traffic. She was airlifted to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, where she fought valiantly for 36 hours before her passing.

Family and Legacy

Amanda’s passing has left an indelible mark on her family and community. She is survived by her mother, Frances Kish; her siblings, Samantha Marie Kish and Joshua Xavier Kish; her grandparents, Rebecca Collins and the late Steve Collins; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her family fondly remembers her as a beacon of love and joy, whose presence enriched their lives in countless ways.

Services

Visitation was held on November 1, 2022, at Molnar Funeral Homes – Nixon Chapel in Wyandotte, Michigan. Family sharing and prayers took place that evening. The following day, November 2, 2022, a service was held at Gateway Church of Christ in Southgate, Michigan, with interment at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Michigan.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the Kish family established a fund to assist with funeral expenses, medical bills, and daily living costs during this challenging time. The community’s response was overwhelming, with friends, family, and even strangers contributing generously to honor Amanda’s memory.
